Fort Carson Plans for New Museum
19-Jan-2009Fort Carson Plans for New Museum
Nearly eight years after its initial concept development, the Mountain Post Historical Center on Fort Carson is becoming a reality. On June 30 the artist’s rendering was unveiled, with construction expected to begin in 2007. The Mountain Post Historical Center will be a privately funded museum that will honor the men and women - past, present and future – who have been and will be part of the ongoing history of Fort Carson. Located at the main entrance to Fort Carson on the south side of Colorado Springs between Interstate 25 and Highway 115, the museum will be situated at the foot of Pikes Peak. Current plans call for a 2008 opening. For more information, contact Lou Mellini at 719-633-2867.
